She Tells Us Stories: Experiences & Epiphanies by Eleanor Stewart

$15.00

Finalist in the 2018 NM/AZ Book Awards

The stories in these poems are true, or as true as memory allows them to be. They show an American girl from a small town on the border of West Virginia and Ohio gradually becoming a citizen of the world. Eleanor Stewart takes us into the New York theater world, on to tutoring Vietnamese refugees in Denver and then through the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in a refugee camp on Palawan Island in the Philippines, and had a brief stay in Australia before teaching in Japan. Eleanor retired in Albuquerque, New Mexico and passed away in 2020.
