Of Pandemic, Politics & Pumpkins by Megan Baldrige
The Covid flu hovered on the sidewalk near the front door, near the moths, near the fledgling tomato and basil starts. Then there was a shutdown of my home state of New Mexico, and the upside of the quarantine was a lot of time spent writing poetry–as opportunity of time intersected with national crisis. Before the pandemic I often wrote about politics and my garden: these topics fired me up and calmed me down; during the pandemic I still wrote about politics and my garden.
