Lauren Camp is the newly appointed Poet Laureate of New Mexico and author of five books, most recently Took House (Tupelo Press). Her honors include the Dorset Prize and finalist citations for the Arab American Book Award and Housatonic Book Award. Her poems have appeared in many journals and anthologies, including Kenyon Review, Prairie Schooner, Blackbird, Poet Lore, and The Los Angeles Review. Her work has been translated into Mandarin, Turkish, Spanish, and Arabic. Her honors include Astronomer in Residence at Grand Canyon National Park, fellowships from Denver Botanic Gardens and Black Earth Institute, and a visiting writer position at the Mayo Clinic.
