August 30th featured reader Anna Martinez Albuquerque's new Poet Laureate!
Jules' Poetry Playhouse congratulates Anna Martinez as the sixth poet laureate for the city! City of ABQ , the Paper and ABQ Courier, among others. The ABQ Courier reports: "Mayor Keller said, “What a beautiful reflection of the city it is.” Martinez is set to represent the city in all things poetic for a two-year term starting July 1. Her first book of poetry, Pura Puta, A Poetic Memoir, is out now from Casa Urraca Press."
Tuesday, August 30th feature is followed by open mic. 6 pm Pacific, 7 pm Mountain, 8 pm Central, 9 pm Eastern We also want to thank Albuquerque's fifth poet laureate Mary Oishi for her two years of service!
